Now onto our usual weekly round-up, including lots of great photography events happening this weekend.

Leica Store DC is hosting a modeling photography demo with a studio setup and cameras to try tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m., free.
The DC Street Photography Collective is hosting a conversation with their member (and Exposed alum) Sofia Sebastian tomorrow at Project Create Arts Space at 2:30 p.m. in conjunction with their “Hiding in Plain Sight” exhibition that runs through Feb. 18.
Also tomorrow, head to Gallery Y for the Waves of Joy artist talk from 3:00-5:00 p.m. which will includes photographers from the “Dap Is A Love Language” exhibit.

The deadline for our annual photo contest is fast approaching! You have until the end of the month to submit your best images of the D.C. metro area for the chance to be part of our 17th annual exhibition. Speaking of previous winners, Exposed alum Sue Dorfman has been capturing voting stories from across the nation for nearly three decades.
The DC Street Photography Collective’s (DCSPC’s) “Hiding in Plain Sight” exhibition opens tonight at Project Create Arts Center, 6:00 p.m. Local photographers can also take part in their open call through February 4 with selected images to be exhibited at the show closing.
As part of the opening, DCSPC member (and Exposed alum!) Chris Suspect will be selling around 100 8×10 signed prints.
Three artists are suing Midjourney, Stability AI, and DeviantArt for their use of Stable Diffusion, an AI art-generating tool.
Getty Images is also suing Stability AI over alleged copyright violation.
The Falcon Heavy rocket launch last weekend happened in twilight, providing rare evening light that allowed for new insights into the liftoff and return of the rocket.

Just a few weeks left to enter our annual photography contest. Submit your favorite images of the D.C. metro area by January 31 for the chance to be a part of our 17th annual exhibit. The DC Street Photography Collective will have an exhibit at Project Create January 20 through February 18 and will hold an open call in conjunction with the exhibit.
