Exposed DC is pleased to announce its 9th annual Exposed DC Photography Show at its new location, 1358 NE, from March 12 to April 11, 2015.

Our 42 winning photographs were chosen from a contest for their unique view of the Washington area – not as a political venue or tourist destination, but as a place where we live and work and love every day. Five of those photographs will be awarded our Best in Show award and $100 prize, each one chosen by a panel of distinguished metro-area editors and photojournalists.

The exhibit and opening reception will take over two floors at Capital Fringe‘s brand new Trinidad headquarters. D.C.’s own Bluejacket Brewery will provide three of their original brews at an open bar; complimentary wine will also be available.

Tickets are $14 in advance, $20 at the door.

A full color Exhibition Magazine with the 2015 winners will be available for $10 at the opening, and online soon. The special issue 5th Anniversary Magazine from 2011 will also be available for $25. At the reception only, guests can purchase them together for $30.

Additional exhibit viewing days:
– Saturday, March 14, 4:30-7:30pm
– Friday, March 20, 6-8pm
– Saturday, March 28, 6-8pm
Closing reception: Saturday, April 11, 4-8pm, free admission.

All photographs displayed will be for sale. High-res images available upon request.

The 2015 Exposed DC Winning Photographs!

January 13, 2015 By Heather Goss

ExposedDC2015ShowGraphic3

This year we celebrate our 9th annual Exposed DC Photography Show. We’ve worked hard every year to bring you the best photography that, as seen together, tells the story of living in the Washington, D.C. area. From our early days at Warehouse (RIP) to today, as we prepare to exhibit our 2015 winning images at the new Capital Fringe headquarters, we’ve been proud to feature local photographers of all levels, hobbyist to professional, who are able to see the nation’s capital as more than just a collection of monuments.

Mark your calendars for March 12, when we’ll open our 9th annual exhibit with our usual blowout bash. But tonight, January 13, join us at Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights from 6 to 8 p.m. for our monthly happy hour, to mingle and meet your fellow photographers, and this time, to toast to the following 42 winners of the 2015 contest. Congratulations!

September 25, 2014 By Heather Goss

InstantDC 2014 Contest Winners

UPDATE: The show will enjoy an extended run at a new venue! The show re-opens at BloomBars with a reception on Sunday, November 9 from 2-4pm. Event details here.

Join us at Washington ArtWorks / Washington School of Photography on Friday, October 3, 6:00-9:00 p.m., as we open the Exposed DC / InstantDC 2014 Fall Review! This photography exhibit features the best and most beautiful images from D.C.-area photographers. Over 1,000 images were submitted, with just 45 being accepted into what will be an extraordinary show of talent. This show was juried by Keith Lane and E. Brady Robinson, two photographers local to the D.C. Metro area.

Keep an eye out next Tuesday, September 30, when we’ll announce the prize winners of our fall exhibition. The Grand, Second, and Third place winners will receive cash prizes from Exposed DC and InstantDC, and five Honorable Mentions will receive prizes sponsored by BorrowLenses.com. Special thanks go out to Capitol Hill Frame & Photo, which is (you guessed it) printing and framing the winning images.

The gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday–Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday–Sunday, and the show will be up through October 31.

See you on October 3!
