Featured Instagrammer: Juxtapost

February 15, 2015 By James Campbell

This week’s featured local Instagram user is juxtapost (@juxtapost). Juxtapost post-processes his photographs to create images that conjure up a kind of blurry dreamscape, hazy memories of a city roamed. Walk with us through our favorites below.

Featured Instagrammer: Tony Ibarra

This week’s featured Instagram user is Tony Ibarra (@ibarragrams). Tony, who’s also a past winner of our annual Exposed DC photography contest, is a prolific shooter with a wide range of foci, from natural scenes to slices of the city. His bright pastel treatments and water-filled compositions are some of the highlights we found most enjoyable out of his stream. Enjoy our selections below.

Featured Instagrammer: Phil Martin

December 27, 2014 By James Campbell

This week’s featured Instagram user is Phil Martin, @phil.martin. Phil is also the founder of the Make Portraits Not War (@makeportraitsnotwar) account and hashtag. Beyond the usual people-jumping-in-the-air and selfie-in-the-mirror shots, Phil’s best works are his portraits using available light.

Featured Instagrammer: Nomi Khan

October 12, 2014 By James Campbell

We’re back after taking a break to plan and execute the Fall Review show.

This week’s featured Instagram user is Nomi Khan – @nomi.khan. Nomi’s abstracted urban slices offer a fresh take on the concrete, glass, and steel that make up any city. Through his non-square Instagram feed, the viewer gets to recombine the city’s varied patterns into an entirely unique mind-scape that is more than the sum of its parts. Follow his Instagram account to see what he comes up with next.
