Pop some popcorn and clear the couches for a watch party, because Exposed DC is on TV! This Monday, October 3, tune into WETA PBS for this month’s episode of WETA Arts featuring Heather Goss, founder of Exposed DC. She talks with host Felicia Curry about “this visual celebration of the city”—including some of the best images we’ve featured—and the community we’ve been building together for 17 years.
The episode airs at 8:30 p.m. on WETA Metro and 9:30 p.m. on WETA PBS, and at the same times on October 24. It will also be available for streaming on the free PBS Video App and on weta.org starting October 4.
- Photoworks is hosting a film camera day tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free camera assessments, film cameras you can borrow or buy, and tutorials provided.
- The James Webb Space Telescope and the Hubble Space Telescope both documented NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART), marking the first time both telescopes simultaneously observed the same celestial target.
- Exposed alum Chris Suspect will be talking with writer and musician Alec MacKaye at the Mt Pleasant Neighborhood Library on Thursday, October 6 at 6:30 p.m. about his punk rock photography and their experiences in the DC/punk and hardcore scenes. After the talk, the DC Punk Archive will exhibit items from its collection.

- The Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society encouraged entrants to their annual photography competition to focus on the essence of the UK’s connection with the sea.
- Dave Caulkin, the Associated Press photographer who captured the iconic moment when ice dancers won the 1984 Olympic gold medal, has died at 77 years old.
