For better or for worse, the World Cup is everywhere you look at the moment. This was especially true on Thursday as the USA faced Germany in a bid to advance to the next stage. Victoria Pickering figured she’d have some great photo opportunities if she visited Dupont Circle, where fans gathered to watch the match on a giant screen. She was right.
If, like me, you’re working indoors at your desk, this idyllic shot from John Sonderman is likely to instill a certain amount of envy. It’s only Monday and I’m already looking forward to the weekend…
At first glance, this is just a nicely framed shot with interesting geometry of lines and textures. But when you take a closer look, you start to notice the interesting positions and behaviors of the people under the watchful gaze of their pigeon overlord. Well done brunofish.
Photographer Michael Andrade strikes again. Andrade has a soft spot for shooting close-ups at live shows, and this time he gets in the face of Priests’ vocalist Katie Alice Greer with fantastic results.
Once again my eye has been caught by a shot that’s crying out for an explanation. Photographer Miki J. uses a humorous title to accompany the image, perhaps keeping the real story from us for effect.
