Photographer Patrick Onofre had Exposed founder Heather Goss on his Staying In Focus Photography Podcast to talk about Exposed, Ten Miles Square, and how she got into art writing. Patrick has interviewed many local photographers on his show, including several Exposed alumni: Angela Kleis, Jim Darling, Matt Dunn, Yonas Hassen, Pablo Benavente, Mike Hicks, James Campbell, Brandon Kopp, Brian Mosley and  Ryan Maxwell.

Announcing the 2013 Winners

The judging is done. The arguments for and against this photo and that photo are now forgotten. The curating is finally over. The winning images for the seventh annual DCist Exposed Photography Show have been decided!

Our incredibly talented cadre of photographers submitted nearly 600 images to the contest. Somehow, we were able to narrow it down to just 42 winning shots. As in years past, we were so impressed with the fantastic diversity of work depicting the place we all call home — take some time to click the link above and peruse them all.

The 2013 DCist Exposed contest is open!

As of noon today, December 5, the contest is open for the 7th annual DCist Exposed Photography Show. Gather ye images of local culture and pick your best three. You can submit photos until January 9, but we highly suggest making a Flickr account now if you don’t have one yet. They’re free, but Flickr will usually take a few days to review new accounts to make sure they aren’t spam or otherwise inappropriate, so if you want until January 9, you might have problems getting your photos in the pool.

Welcome to our new website!

We finally decided to get a page that consolidated all the great Exposed stuff from the last six years. Here you’ll find links to winning images from our past shows, rules for the contest, and information about our publications. Our annual contest opens in December (coming up soon!) and the exhibit runs in March at Long View Gallery. Keep an eye on this site and DCist for updates about the show. We look forward to see what you come up with for 2013!
