One of my favorite Washington pastimes has begun again. This image by Flickr user, Lane 4 Imaging, beautifully celebrates my excitement.

If you take a quick scan through our Flickr pool, it looks like a bunch of photographers got together over the weekend to create a postcard series from the Nation’s capital. Enjoy these classic D.C. scenes for today’s In Frame.
I’m in awe of how Kevin Wolf uses light in these two photographs. His fireworks image isn’t solely about the sparkling bursts of lights that are usually depicted in such shots—it focuses instead on the people enjoying the show. And I can’t stop staring at the night sky in his second photo, Star Gazing.

You’ve no doubt seen all the amazing fireworks photos from Saturday, but I loved this one taken by Karon Flage as she headed home from Iwo Jima, making it look like the city was fleeing as the apocalypse descends.
