Chris Muth captures a hauntingly beautiful scene on the Potomac River. The young man’s gesture, pulling his body into the smoke, is what makes me so fascinated with this image.

I can’t exactly articulate what this photo reminds me of but, I am drawn to it’s nostalgic nature. The treatment of the the image creates an artificiality to the scene, which invites my mind to create a narrative within the single frame.

This photo by Jean-Baptiste Sankara is simply beautiful. I’m enamored with the tonal aspect of the image, which completely portrays the mood of a foggy scene. The branches peering from the right edge are a wonderful final touch.
