Chris Muth captures a hauntingly beautiful scene on the Potomac River. The young man’s gesture, pulling his body into the smoke, is what makes me so fascinated with this image.

Instagram user @__janerik read my thoughts exactly when he commented on Albert Ting’s photograph, “Nice Puzzle!” The different shapes fit together and form an interesting scene, but it’s really Albert’s eye that creates this puzzle with his eye for framing.
Carlos Lacruz captures ordinary objects on a Hilton Head beach in a way that makes me want to stop and look, not just walk by. The cyan-colored water and the orange umbrella and rescue gear beautifully complement one another making my eye dance back and forth from the water to the mini-shelter.

I just love this. Not only is this an extremely positive image, it’s also an eye catching composition. The bright room with the seemingly floating squares of color is delightful to look at.

John Benevelli captures the eerie banality of the office space. Empty chairs display the direction in which they last swiveled, the florescent lights remain lit, and it seems as though data streams through the cords to the ceiling in this abandoned space. It’s a sad reality that the office space is where we dwell most, but maybe these people got a chance to break free.
