This one of many images that Victoria Pickering captured of new installation by the Charles Bergen Studio. The team of artists were selected by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities to create the Chinatown DC Barnes Dance Artwork. Pickering’s photo is a striking and well-composed image that gives a glimpse of the intriguing installation.
Obviously there’s a slew of possible reasons for this poor soul to look so uncomfortable sitting on those steps, but ep_jhu has framed and titled the shot to accommodate his own theory.
If you’ve seen Mayor Vincent Gray enough times, you can recognize him even with half his face obscured. Photographer Chris Suspect caught the Mayor in Chinatown, cleverly using police tape to split the frame, echoing the horizontal lines of both the car and the buildings in the background.
