Lines, lines, everywhere there are lines. Jordan Barab created this geometric, patterned image which forces your eye to go in many directions, even though the sign says “One Way”.

Chris Supect’s work is filled with wonderful compositions, and this is no exception. The placing of the horizon line, the location of the people in the image, and the way they are all doing odd things is what makes this image stand out. The humor is the icing on the cake.

As reflected in our Flickr pool, it’s the time of year for county and state fairs. We’ve seen plenty of terrific roller coaster shots from our regulars but this stunner from Victoria Pickering simply took our breath away.

There’s so much to like in this deliciously messy shot by Jordan Barab—the deluge of rectangular lines broken up by the fire escape and the hand truck; the strong textures of the painted brickwork; the saturated rust-brown color theme accented by the red coat. And if you’re tired of summer already, it’s nice to look at a photo taken in January.
