Photographer Zach Kalman captured a nice moment in this image. This photograph seems completely different than Monday’s In Frame, except that in both images the gestures of the subjects’ hands and the objects they hold are what keep me fixated on the scene. It’s rare these days to see someone smoking inside a public space, which, like Monday’s selection, makes it seem like it’s from a different era.

I love this image. Not only did photographer Zach Kalman find an interesting scene he used the repetition of color and pattern to frame a more captivating picture. The red car, aqua car, red lights, aqua steps, and red car all keep my eyes bouncing around within the photograph.

I am attracted to the mood of this photograph by Zach Kalman. It’s an image that breathes the essence of a simpler time–before cold brew coffee was popularized. The man dressed with elegance meets the eyes of Kalman adding a deeper connection to a photographer and his subject.
