In Frame: Best of 2015

January 4, 2016 By Caroline Space Leave a Comment

It’s been a great year of photography, and we’ve been thrilled to feature a ton of it here every Monday and Wednesday in our In Frame selections. Here are my top ten favorite In Frames from 2015. To have your work considered this year, submit your images to our Flickr pool or tag them #exposeddc on Instagram (and follow us here).

Don’t forget you have just a few more days to enter the 10th annual Exposed DC photo contest! Submit your best photographs from the D.C. area by midnight on January 6.

When air starts too get cold, simply looking at the ocean gives me the shivers. The black and white tones in Graeme.Sta.Graeme‘s photo create a greater contrast between the water itself and where the waves crash on the surface, making the sea appear more treacherous.  However, even though I describe the scene as something possibly unpleasant, I still want to be there.

Experience is not guarantee of success and youth is no guarantee of inovation #yellow Also if it looks like this picture is slightly off kilter it's because it is, the floor is slanted…but just enough to make things seem off

I love this photo by Instagram user @graeme.sta.graeme. The sun is rising as I write today’s In Frame and the yellow-orange glow that hits my walls is the same color as this scene. The picture may be a little “off kilter” but its warmth and symmetry feel just right.
