Instagram user @big.buffalo shares a beautiful coastal scene filled with satiating blues that trigger an emotional response for me.  Sparse branches on a thirsty hill framing the ocean create a visual contrast. I, too, am “always kind of missing the ocean.”

This is a spectacular photograph by Albert Ting. It’s so grand but also eerie to see a music hall of great popularity devoid of any activity. I can only image how much more exciting this experience was for a photographer—or any person—who has stood on that stage gazing back on an admiring audience.

For some reason the luggage trolleys make me think of robots huddling together. I love the way James Jackson uses the negative space above and below the clumped “androids” on the tarmac, which adds to the bionic nature of these inanimate carts. No, James this isn’t a sunny destination spot but, you did capture a great scene at the airport.

I love this photo by Instagram user @graeme.sta.graeme. The sun is rising as I write today’s In Frame and the yellow-orange glow that hits my walls is the same color as this scene. The picture may be a little “off kilter” but its warmth and symmetry feel just right.

John Oliver’s segment where he makes a case for D.C. statehood on his show Last Week Tonight is funny and accurate. At the end of his rant, he sings a D.C. statehood song with children to tune of the “USA State Song.” Instagram user, @mikijourdan, snapped a photo of these children performing the same anthem on the steps of the United States Capitol. Preach!
