Zion eating the most important meal of the day- ice cream!!! Southeast D.C. / June 2016

Joy Sharon Yi shares an image from her ongoing project about children living in public housing in Ward 8 neighborhood, Barry Farms. This scene excellently depicts the childhood summer nostalgia many of us remember—eating popsicles on hot summer days in parks, attempting to lick the cold sweets fast enough before they drip down our arms.

Photographer, Joy Yi has spent several months documenting Ward 8 in DC.  This image is beautifully crafted—Yi demonstrates great vision while on assignment. The movement of this girls playing their violins inside lockers feels more like a film clip than a still photograph.
