  • Sony’s latest firmware uses artificial intelligence to provide autofocus on subject’s eyes, even when the subject is an animal.
  • Elton John and David Furnish will have a photography gallery named after them at the V&A after making a significant donation to the new photography center.
  • Professionals in the field of biomedical photography share their experience ranging from documenting bacteria and viruses to photomicrography and beyond.
  • This year’s Washington Post Squirrel Week Photography contest winners include (at least) three Exposed alums — Andrew Pasko-Reader, Angela Napili and Victoria Pickering.
  • Noelle K. Tan: Part II Volume 2, featuring black and white photographs produced in the darkroom, is on exhibit at Civilian Art Projects from 1-5 p.m. tomorrow.  
  • Photoworks latest exhibit features three photographic series that explore the connection between subjects and objects/environments surrounding them. The exhibit is on view starting today, and an opening reception and gallery talk will be held next Saturday, April 27 at 5 p.m.
  • PHMuseum has announced the winners of their 2019 photography grant, with the top prize going to Nikita Teryoshin for his series Nothing Personal, which takes a look at the commercial business behind global defense.
