Sometimes when I’m browsing through our Flickr pool, I instantly see an image that really strikes me. This photograph by Dennis Dimick is one of those images. I can feel the humid air in Arlington, and sense the mood of the waiting police officer. His wait is not anxious anticipation — it’s a calm pause that happens early on dreary mornings when things are slow to start.
