There’s been a flurry of shots of the lovely CityCenterDC “blossoms” in our feed recently, one of which made our Featured Instagrammers gallery last weekend. Andy Pawha‘s photo stands out not only as one of the few nighttime captures of these beautiful lights, but the clever angle and framing highlight a cool geometric pattern not seen in most.

While we’ve been enjoying the gorgeous close-ups of our resident D.C. eagles and their new offspring, Phil has been keeping tabs on their neighboring cousins in Alexandria, Virginia. Based on his caption of this stunning shot, we can look forward to new arrivals for this raptor family before long!

Great framing by Kaitlin Jencso in this very meta and slightly creepy image, creating tension and interest with the use of negative space and patches of contrasting colors.

Exposed DC Opening Reception by Paul Sirajuddin
Exposed DC Opening Reception by Paul Sirajuddin

I love the use of the tilt-shift-like effect in this image of the Exposed DC 10th Anniversary opening, shot by seasoned Exposed winner Paul Sirajuddin. It adds an unusual hazy, dream-like feel to the scene, not dissimilar to my own experience of the event! If you haven’t seen our earlier galleries of photos by Kristen Finn, then check out a small selection here, or the full set here.

Don’t forget you can still visit the exhibit at the Carnegie Library for free, Monday-Thursday, 10am-4pm, and Fridays, 10am-8pm, through Tuesday, March 29. You can also buy any of the photos via your smartphone while at the gallery, or online at your leisure!

This image by Holly Garner is weird and confusing but I totally love it.

Don’t forget to buy your advance tickets for our grand opening March 10 at the Carnegie Library!
