  • The Second Annual Funk Parade Photo Gallery, a collaborative pictorial essay contrasting the Black Broadway of the past with the Black Broadway of today, will be this Sunday with both in-person and online events.
  • Sony invites female photographers to apply for the Alpha Female ambassador program, with grants for projects offering $5,000, Sony gear, and more. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through February with winners announced every two weeks starting in September.
  • A photography enthusiast inherited a large collection of photos shot by his grandfather and started digitizing the film recently, discovering street photos showing life in Europe over half a century ago.
  • Adorama’s eighth Create No Matter What theme is “Create Your World,” focusing on composite photography. Deadline for submissions is September 2.
  • Entries are being accepted through October 8 for the second annual Leica Women Foto Project Award, a juried program where three photographers will receive an award to support a personal project relevant to today’s social and political climate, as told through the female perspective.
